Since the November 7th patch, Path of Fire had been quite short in collection when it came to actually collecting armor and weapon skins. There were the initial collections to unlock the Funerary armor, but Dulfy got a sweet guide for that already. (Weapons are unlocked by this collection) Other than that it was just some specific weapon collections and the rare gear ones.
Now with the new patch however, the game has gotten collections for all of its weapon and armor skins, increasing the replayability if you're an AP or skin collector. The idea of these collections are pretty simple like the HoT ones and other skin collections. Get all skins for every weapon or every armor class to complete them.
We now got 7 new armor and weapon collections to do:
Sunspear Weapons
These weapons are acquired from identifying rare/masterwork/fine unidentified gear acquired in PoF zones or crafted from recipes acquired from Heart vendors in Crystal Oasis, Desert Highlands or Elon Riverlands (You need to have unlocked the rare Elonian versions of the weapons to be able to buy the exotic recipes.
Take note that these weapons don't have to be the named Sunspear weapons like you need for the elite spec collections, so crafting is cheaper for the elite spec weapons, where on the other hand you can buy the named versions of the non-elite spec weapon sets for a much lower price than the crafting cost right now
The reward from this collection is a container that gives a ascended Marshal recipe or 4 Pulsing Brandsparks and a complete ascended Marshal inscription(basically a free ascended weapon if you got a Crafting Discipline at level 500)
Spearmarshal Armor
These armor sets works the same as the Sunspear weapons, acquired from identifying rare/masterwork/fine unidentified gear and crafted with recipes acquired from Heart vendors in Crystal Oasis, Desert Highlands or Elon Riverlands (You also need to have unlocked the rare Elonian versions of the weapons to be able to buy the exotic recipes.
As of this post, ALL of the Sunspear armor is cheaper to straight-out buy on the TP instead of crafting. (Search for Rebirth in the TP)
The reward from this collection is also a container that gives a ascended Marshal recipe or 4 Pulsing Brandsparks and a complete ascended Marshal insignia(basically a free ascended armor piece if you got a Crafting Discipline at level 500)
Mordant Weapons
The named versions of these weapons drop from Awakened and from doing events in Awakened-plagued zones. People usually get tricked by these, cause it's much cheaper to craft the weapons than buy the named ones. The recipes needed to craft the Mordant weapons are bought from Heart vendors in The Desolation and Domain of Vabbi. To unlock the recipes one must, like with Sunspear weapons, unlock the rare versions first.
The reward from this collection is a container that gives a ascended Harrier recipe or 4 Pulsing Brandsparks and a complete ascended Harrier inscription(basically a free ascended weapon if you got a Crafting Discipline at level 500)
Warbeast Armor
These armor sets are crafted with recipes only (except for a WvW/PvP reward track) and these recipes are all random drops off PoF meta events and chests found in the zones. Once acquired, one just start crafting them with the desired Crafting Discipline.
The reward from this collection is a container that gives a ascended Harrier recipe or 4 Pulsing Brandsparks and a complete ascended Harrier insignia(basically a free ascended armor piece if you got a Crafting Discipline at level 500)
Bounty Hunter's Armor
These armor sets are crafted with recipes and rare drops from Legendary Bounties (example) and the recipes are bought from Priory Historian Elisa whose recipes and location rotates depending on the week (Like Warbeast armor, you can also get these armor sets from the WvW/PvP reward track)
The reward from this collection is a container that gives a ascended Harrier recipe or 4 Pulsing Brandsparks and a complete ascended Harrier insignia(basically a free ascended armor piece if you got a Crafting Discipline at level 500)
Funerary Armor
If you've followed Dulfy's guide and have all the armor unlocked for purchase, you simply need to spend enough Mosaic Elegies (drops from Meta events and Legendary bounties in PoF) to buy them all from the Primeval Steward.
The reward from this collection is different from the others, as you here get a COMPLETE piece of ascended armor with Grieving stats.
Funerary Weapons
If you've done this collection you have unlocked all the Funerary weapons for purchase, and here you also need to spend Mosiac Elegies to buy them all from the Primeval Steward.
The reward from this collection is also COMPLETE piece of ascended gear, this time a weapon with Grieving stats.
